…of Fog and Ferns…

I know that I have been gone for a longer than expected time period. But honest, it’s not my fault! Well, no. It is my fault. However, I do have a very good reason. I finally got moved out of my apartment in Sacramento and back to my parents house in Humboldt. I forgot how absolutely GREEN it is here. Green, and wet. The sun is out, but nothing ever dries out. I’ll have to wait for summer I guess.

It continues to amaze me, the absolutely obscured amount of things that I managed to collect over a two and a half year span of time. Now almost everything that I own is in some sort of box. I only unpacked the things that I would absolutely need (e.g, computer, books). I noticed that a lot of the boxes I had were in fact boxes of books, so I got about five of the very big boxes unpacked and put on a bookshelf. Basically I am just spending my week off unpacking the things that I will need and just trying to get some sort of normality back into my life.

My mother and I went up to Fern Canyon for a day hike. I took some pictures of the place, including a really good (IMO) picture of a VERY SMALL mushroom…it was almost translucent. I have recently been on a WikiMedia-Commons kick, so I’m going to be uploading all of my pictures that I take over the next few months to Wiki-Commons. If you want to see the pictures that I took of Fern Canyon (a select few), please check out my Gallery Page at WikiMedia-Commons and you can see them all in full glory!

So today is actually the day that I went to Eureka and picked up the bookcase that I needed for all my books. While I was there I picked up my schedule for my new position as the Electronics Specialist at Target T1421. It’s kind of odd, being back there after having left to accomplish one of my goals. I accomplished that goal, and where am I? Back at Target. But that is OK, I know that it’s just temporary while I wait to hear back from Graduate schools. So every had better be praying that I get into a graduate school, because I really do not want to end up being the Electronics Specialist for the rest of my life. KTHXBAI. Anyway my schedule is not that terrible, two days at 7am and the rest of the days at 8am. No closing shifts, AND my first weekend is my weekend off. I asked about who I report to, like if there was a Team Leader that I had to report to or not. It was going to be weird I think, having just come off of being a Team Leader and then having to go back to being a regular Team Member and reporting to someone else. However I was saved, I report directly to the ETL-HR (Human Resources Executive) who I know. It won’t be too bad. Time to make friends!

I’ve rambled on far too long friend,

Always,

Yours.
